Criteria Used For Identification The following are problems of characteristics which we feel give cause for concern: Speech or language problems Visual or auditory concerns Poor emotional or social development Behavioural factors Under-development of gross and fine motor skills Dyslexic type child Strong family history Child who doesn't make progress Gut reaction based on professional experience and ones own judgement Gaps between IQ and other quotients Comparisons with other children A combination of any of the above. Staff will use the above criteria to determine whether or not the initial concern requires the initiation of an action plan as set out and required by the code of practice. We have devised a schedule of standardised tests which will be given to all children. This makes provision for reviewing children on a regular basis. |
