Cross-Curricular Themes

There are opportunities for EMU AND cultural Heritage, ie tolerance for others, sharing, respect for equipment and property, observance of the country code, study of local place names and their origin.  It will also be employed as a useful resource, eg Junior Database, Our Facts, Mapvent, Little Red Riding Hood, Teddy Bears Picnic, Move a work, Logo, Roamer and Geo-Safari

Safety

Parent's consent will be sought before taking pupils on field trips.  In preparation pupils will be reminded how to behave with regard to safety.  They will also be instructed to wear the appropriate clothing.  Pupils will be shown how to use materials and tools with respect, care and consideration for their own and other pupils safety.

Assessment and Record Keeping

This will take varying forms from exercise books, quizzes, word-searchers, cloze procedure, sequencing, recording, eg rainfall, temperature.

Evaluation and Review will be on an ongoing basis.
