Page 7 of 7 PRIMARY 7 OBJECTIVES Pupils should be able to: (a) Listen attentively with understanding and courtesy. (b) Be able to communicate clearly and confidently for a variety of purposes and audiences.
ACTIVITIES AND METHODS (As for P6 plus) (a) Debates - on topical subjects - The advantages and disadvantages of school uniforms, or smoking, leaded/unleaded petrol. (b) Hat debate - pick out topic and speak for 1 minute. (c) Discuss characters from novels, short stories etc. (d) Develop empathy with them. (e) Children exchange thoughts and ideas about books they have read. (f) Project work, design own books. Children take responsibility for different aspects of topics. (g) Reading aloud to audiences from varied material, eg - prayer, poem, story, etc. (h) Listen to a broadcast for a particular purpose and if necessary take notes. |
