Positive Behaviour PDF Print E-mail
We expect all our school community to act in a positive and caring way towards each other. To this end we have some school rules for our pupils, which we will implement fairly and consistently.
  1. To respect their own and other's property. Classroom books and equipment are to be handled carefully. It is school policy that books are to be covered.
  2. To play fairly and for enjoyment. Bad language is considered a breach of positive behaviour.
  3. To wear school uniform.
  4. To move through the school quietly and in order. In the interest of safety, running in the corridor is forbidden.
  5. At all times to be courteous in speech and conduct to their teachers, canteen, supervisory and clerical staff, their fellow pupils, and visitors to the school.
  6. Fighting and bulling in school will be considered breaches of positive behaviour. If parents suspect that their child is being bullied they are requested to inform the school.
  7. Children.must remain inside the school grounds. We encourage them to have a respectful attitude to their school environment. We pride ourselves in being a litter free school.
  8. Parents will be responsible for the behaviour of their children travelling to and from school.
  9. The use of positive action in maintaining good behaviour will be encouraged at all times.

Accordingly, teachers are encouraged to acknowledge children who :

  • Have worked to an acceptable standard when completing a piece of work.
  • Have shown consideration to others and a willingness to act responsibly.
  • Demonstrate good manners.
  • Show care for the classroom and school environment. When representing the school, eg — school trips, sporting events, behave in a manner that brings credit to themselves and the school.

These children will be acknowledged at our weekly assembly.

Parents will be notified about minor or consistent lapses in behaviour, and where necessary the sanctions imposed.
